Midwestern Summer Meal = Cold Noodles.

A Midwestern summer day like today calls for something like this:  Cold somen noodles on a bed of sauteed turnip and radish greens from our garden, topped with toasted sesame, nori, and shiso leaves.  Cold dipping shiitake + kombu broth.  Freshly grated ginger on the side, of course, to give it a zing.  Yum!

Rumor has it that it is going to be in the high 90s today...

今日みたいな暑い日はやっぱり冷やしそうめん!!家庭菜園のカブの葉さらっと炒めてその上にそうめんと胡麻と海苔と。。。いろいろ。やっぱり薬味はおろし生姜。

Video: Capturing The Experience

I was so humbled and delighted and just awe-struck when I opened up my inbox this morning and found this video link from Mr. Alex from Quimby.  Watched it continuously in full screen mode for like 11 times.  Teary eyed, I want to share this with you.

Thank you, Team Hannah and Alex!   You have captured the experience of Sayuri's World and made it a million-fold!  I hope none of the jellies attacked you while you were in the tank!

The set-up.

The installation of these jellies took us 3 days.  I don't know the exact count of the jellies in the tank, maybe roughly 400.  If anyone has some time to spare while waiting for your flight and wants to volunteer to count how many, please let me know!

Thank you, Kelty and Hannah of  The Weaver House for the images that captures the essence of it all!
