A Midwestern summer day like today calls for something like this: Cold somen noodles on a bed of sauteed turnip and radish greens from our garden, topped with toasted sesame, nori, and shiso leaves. Cold dipping shiitake + kombu broth. Freshly grated ginger on the side, of course, to give it a zing. Yum!
Rumor has it that it is going to be in the high 90s today...
今日みたいな暑い日はやっぱり冷やしそうめん!!家庭菜園のカブの葉さらっと炒めてその上にそうめんと胡麻と海苔と。。。いろいろ。やっぱり薬味はおろし生姜。
